I started working for Microsoft as a full time employee in November of 2007. I had been working on the Microsoft.com Home Page prior to that as a contractor so when I started as a full time employee I was responsible for the production of the US Home Page. The page shown above was populated by a single XML file. It was my responsibility to take the content provided to me and build the page in a staging environment. Once I was done building the page in staging I would send it out for review to a handful of stakeholders. We would do a full refresh of the page about once a week with minor updates throughout the week.
